Multiple Intelligence test

I felt the multiple intelligence test was quite accurate in finding out my learning style, but i think that the questions given were in a way not very accurate. Like they just asked whether its not like you,or whether its really like you and others like that. But overall, i now know what i am really good at, and what i need to improve on.

There is one point though that made me very curious. They classified my intrapersonal style as very low, although i do not think so. I will check myself to find out if it is true and work towards my different goals.

Social Networking

Social Networking, maybe you have heard the word before, but are not quite sure what it means. Social networking is a grouping of individuals into specific groups, like small rural communities or a neighborhood subdivision. Recently, more and more social networking groups are appearing on the internet, creating websites for people to interact with each other.

Nowadays, more and more people have begun using global social networking websites, whether its for private purposes or to the whole world, for example facebook, flikr and even myspace. Many are being hooked onto these websites so much that they do not do their work or assignments. With the world becoming even more high-tech, more and more objects are appearing to distract one from working. Also, there are dangers associated with social networking including data theft and viruses, which are on the rise. there are also people who pretend to be someone else.

These sites are sparking a controversy, that in some countries like China and Vietnam, these sites are banned. A study showed that workers who had social networking sites didn't do as well as the ones who didn't.

The problem now is whether facebook is good or bad. It gives you and your friends a good place to interact, but also attracts you a little too much. Make the choice, the better one prefered.

Recalled Cars

Cars being recalled has been in the news recently, being repeated over and over again. According to sources, nearly one-third of the population of the cars here in Singapore have been affected by this recall since 2003, and not only that, hardly any of the cars have yet to be fixed.

Many companies have said that because of the time it takes to ship car parts here, fixing the cars will take a while. But the problem I find here is not the time that it takes to fix the cars recalled and affected, but why do the cars even need recalling? Well known companies should be able to be trusted, but more and more mistakes are being made in the production of these cars.

In my opinion,I think car companies should take in mind more of the production of the cars than the fixing of the cars. That way, it would benefit both sides.

Haiti

On January 12, 2010, an earthquake hit the carribean country Haiti and devastated the capital city Port-au-Prince, killing over 150,000 people and leaving a very large number homeless.

To be honest with you, I have not heard of Haiti until this earthquake. I never heard of it in the news or anything. But why is this particular earthquake in haiti this popular in the news? It isn't the worst earthquake in history, it didnt have the most cases of death, but yet so many people are helping out in this attempt to help the haitians. Why? Why are more people helpng out Haiti then in like Chengdu or Sumatra?

Because Haiti has long been an impoverished country which has suffered alot due to earthquakes and such. Furthermore, this most recent earthquake was actually predicted a few years back by seismologists but because they were unsure of when the earthquake was, Haiti happily left the issue alone and did not evacuate.

Now, more and more people are sending out help to try and assist Haiti in pulling itself together, even celebrities giving to them. It may no be long if without help, Haiti may never be able to stand up to the world again. In order to help them do that, we must all play a part and encourage other people to help out.
